Student Health Day 2010

Student Health Day 2010

Another successful annual Student Health Day took place yesterday. Students and staff were given the opportunity to speak to health professionals and get expert advice on a range of health issues. Visitors included representatives from the Lighthouse Drugs and Alcohol Team, Asthma UK, Smoking Cessation Team, Chlamydia Screening, Mental Health Team and Merseyside Police who were publicising their Road Safety Awareness campaign. There was also the opportunity to book an appointment for a health check with an NHS Health Trainer and to find out your BMI through the Alive ‘n’ Kicking Weight Management Programme. Information about healthy eating and getting your “five a day” was also available and, with a variety of fresh fruit freely available to all, a few people decided to get their five portions of fruit in one sitting!!
